Archmage Orladin One of the best American metal bands - they put to shame their European counterparts in style and genre (bands like Dimmu Borgir). The only 'flaw' that any VS album has ever had was the production being flat and compressed sounding to an extraordinary degree, but it doesn't matter. Phenomenal album. Considered the premiere symphonic Dark metal band in North America,
Vesperian Sorrow's music evokes the darkest depths of searing human
tragedy juxtaposed with soaring heights of orchestrated, symphonic
melody.
Their undeniable songwriting and passion sets them apart in their
genre. In addition to two full-length albums released by Holland's
Displeased Records, Vesperian Sorrow has been featured on four
compilation albums as well, including Metalblade's "Blackend V".
Their third offering, "Regenesis Creation", was self-released on their
independent label “Underscape”.
Their latest album “Stormwinds of Ages”
orginally released in 2012

The album features guest appearances by Jason McMasters (Watchtower,
Dangerous Toys), and Carl August Tidemann (Winds, Arcturus). All
album art was created by Jon Zig.
Since their inception in 1998, they have toured Europe, and North
America playing shows and festivals in Germany, Czech Republic,
England, Canada, Mexico, and most of the states in the US.

Totengefluster was a pleasant surprise for me quite a few years back when their second album fell into my hands. Symphonic black metal from Germany, very reminiscent of Cradle of Filth. Whilst the previous album had a sense of poetic theatricality within it's composition, this third and final album (sadly the band has now split) is faster paced and more fierce. The songwriting is great, and the vocals continue to impress with the range and execution. Highly recommended, worth the purchase! Abyssius Murkraken
